The Carbon Footprint of Organization (CFO) is an important tool for quantifying and reporting greenhouse gas emissions over the course of a year generated by the activities carried out by an organization (public or private). It is an environmental indicator expressed in terms of CO2-equivalent that makes it possible to measure the total emissions produced directly or indirectly by the organization under study.
The CFO is a powerful tool for the organization because, depending on the results obtained, it allows for the identification of possible areas of intervention in which to apply actions and/or policies aimed at reducing impacts or direct managerial choices toward greater sustainability.
